Abstract

This doctoral research investigates, from an anthropological perspective, the relationship between cultural dynamics and the transnational connection that is generated around the collective action proposal of the Latin American Cultura Viva Comunitaria movement. Through a comparative analysis, the cases of the Costa Rican Network of Culturas Vivas Comunitarias and the Argentine Network for Cultura Viva Comunitaria are studied.

It is relevant for the Social Sciences since it is interested in understanding how the articulation in a network from the local, national and continental territory, acquires a transnational character and what is the cultural interpretation that both networks attribute to what is collectively agreed at the Latin American level. In this sense, it aspires to broaden the discussions around the role of culture in collective action in the network and the meaning of the community approach in collective processes of deliberative and participatory democracy for the construction of community-based cultural policies.
